Two months activities.....

Hello peeps! I felt terrible for not updating my blog for the last 2 months due to busy schedules. So without wasting anymore space, let me quickly summarised my activities so far....

Well, as far as I remembered, I have been called again by DST for the last Grand lucky draw. And guess what? I won the third prize on that day...a nokia E52. Actually my eyes are focusing onto the Iphone 3Gs (the first prize) before the draw. Just imagine how shaky my hands were when I tried to open the 'mystery' envelope. lukily, I saw 'third prize' label or else I would be fainted on the stage if I see 'first prize' label he he he... Anyway, syukur Alhamdullilah.

This picture is copied from DST website.

After the photo session, I went to the Grand prize winner and tried to negotiate about changing the mobile phone but my attempt was failed by his silent.... He is a good 'silent-killer'...ha ha ha

So for the past 2 months, I have given extra classes to my form 5 students so that they would get credits and above, prepared of practical test, set examination papers for form 4 students and then marked them in the early morning as my papers was scheduled on the last day of the exam (seems to be unfair), invigilated, assisting teaching Self-defense to a uniform group at certain nights, mentored UBD's Master in Teaching students, attendded professional workshop and many more.

Within this time, my house was broke-in by thief while I was staying at Mangrove Paradise Resort. Recently, I have lost a favourite uncle forever due to a tragic accident at his house.

Towards the end of the school days, after all the stress, we, Sekolah Menengah Sufri Bolkiah's teachers have prepared a lots' of fun activities for the students to enjoy such as spelling bee, Sprint maths, Teacher's day celebration with fun games and stage performance including 'memukun' and fun run. The students themselve also have performed their talents through 'Talentime'

And that's the reason why I have not up-dated my blog....he he he.

Now we are in the middle of school holidays and there will more activities ahead. My monthly panner for December 2009 is almost full. Gee....

So to all Muslim readers, I would take this chance to wish, Selamat Hari Raya AidilAdha.

Back to business....

Alhamdullilah.....my part as a teacher has just finished marking all the Menengah 5 Qualifying examination papers and Menengah 4 test paper. Some of my Physics students did pretty well at those test and exam as I can see improvement, but a few need to brush up their learning and revision technique.

Anyway, recently I received a call from the DST-group as I was chosen to be a lucky winner of the DST web-portal for paying my bill online. I felt so happy and excited because not only I will get a prize but also I will be going their Headquater building. Yeah! (oh...I'm very fond of tall and unique buildings especially sky-scraper)

The day when I about to received the prize in the prize award presentation ceremony, I was like 'orang sakai' looking around the building. My eyes are so wild that I try my best not to blink.....he he.

Going up to the twelveth floor using the transparent lift, I was so pity to see the scenery of 'burnt' forest of UBD and some area in Rimba. On the twelveth floor, looking down towards the South China sea was amazing. Opps! Just for info, the building's wall is made of thick glass so I actually can see outside through this glass.

During the ceremony, I had a chat with with a unknown friend beside me and we discuss on who is the lucky one to received the $10,000 award later in the month of September....Gosh! I wish I'm the one... I recalled the advertisement on the Kristal FM radio about a mum instructed her daughter to informed everyone at home that the dinner is ready. Instead, her daughter used the DST mobile phone to called her family members. This mum is questioning her about using the mobile phone and her reply is "Cash bonanza kali ah...."

Back to my award, I received the GO broadband modem...with no sim card. Oh NO! That's mean I had to registered to GO broadband which I did after 2 days...there goes my money again....."Cash Bonanza kali ah"..... he he (Don't confuse..C.B. has nothing to do with registration of GO broadband)
After the ceremony, we have the photo session. It's a pity that I didn't wear cara melayu, or else I would be the 'Guest of Honour' as I stand at the middle of all the Prize winning group...he he Perasan.
Well, there is so much to tell about that day event but unfortunately, I have to keep that as part of my sweet memories.

Oh! I forget to wish Selamat Menunaikan Ibadah Puasa to all Muslim friends, colleague as well as to my readers.

BRID EX 2009

Brunei Darussalam has successfully organised the BRIDEX 2009, the military exhibition and shows. Actually I'm not a fan of the military, but since I'm more interested in advance technological equipement and strategy combat skill, so I went there with my martial arts friends to witness these event.
I was totally excited when I got the ticket which cost me B$5.00 till the day arrived. We parked our cars beside the lost 'mau pusing lagi' roller coaster and waited for the pick-up bus to arrive with hundreds of people. When the buses arrived, I was so surprised to see everyone is trying their best to get a place inside by pushing and squeezing, ignoring the small children who are trapped in between.
Those unlucky one like me have to wait for other bus, but unfortunately after an hour, no bus is yet to be seen. From the sky, I could hear the loud sound of a small jet fighter flying. You can guess how far I'm now from BRIDEX venue. So I walked with disappointment and feeling burnt under a hot sun to another pick-up point near to the entrance to the water fountain.
Finally, got a bus there to the venue. On arrival, I have to go inside a building where I guess that where all the people went for scanning body temperature (to prevent the spreading of H1N1 virus) and metal detection scan. Then, a nice lady teared my ticket and I was expecting a souvenir to be given as what I had been mentioned during the buying of ticket. But nothing. I felt so tired and tense to asked since there there is so many people around in the building. I really can't stand it.
So I followed the direction to the exhibit halls and stopped a while to see the building which is so amazing. The glass spherical shaped dome....love it. Wish I could see the internal structure. I received a call from my colleague that there will be a combat show soon, so immediately I went headed straight to the beach to watch it. 'Wow!' With so much explosion, action of rescuing someone from terrorists and helicopters flying around and their revolving blade blew the sand dust all around. Forgotten of what I had went through, it was an amazing lively show.
After those show, I went to the exhibition halls and rushing through every booth due to limited time. I had shot some pictures that caught my eyes' attention. Here where me and my temporary 'lost' friends due to the bus incident, finally met. We spent our time browsing till half past 5. We took pictures outside the building and watched the people queing for the bus from the location of the banner saying, "See you in BRIDEX 2011".
At around 6.30pm we got into the bus with no rushing, no pushing and no squeezing as before.

Anyway, Congratulation to the organiser, Ministry of Defense and the Royal Brunei Military Forces.

Brunei has been ranked 2nd of Influenza A H1N1 density of cases per 10,000 of the population

Adapted from Brunei Times 12 July 2009

I read the Brunei Times this morning and I was quite shocked to see the chart on 'H1N1: MoH policy is 'take care of everyone'. Something not to be proud of, ranking second on the density of cases per 10,000 of the population and first in growth of cases in the past ten days. Instead we should take more precautions in order to protect ourself from infection of H1N1 virus.
Ministry of Health has suggested that proper maintenance of personal hygiene is still the best precaution, other that that, proper ways of wearing the suitable mask whereever we go such as cinema, shopping mall, etc and if you are really sick, get medical attention from the hospital or clinic or even to any function and gathering. In other words, self-quarantine will do.
Currently, there are few articles mentioned about the mutation of the H1N1 virus and other flu virus such as H3N2, etc. When this happen, scientists would have to produced new vaccine that might takes months or even years.
The question is, Are we 100% ready to prevent ourselves from this pandemic cases?

Happy Father's Day

This morning my two adorable daughters gave me a card each. Look simple but their creative work of art are very expensive with the words "I love you Daddy". They designed the card themselves. Anyway, those are my most beautiful and expensive gift ever.

So to all daddy out there especially to my wonderful dad, 'Happy Father's day'.

Long time no update....

Wow! Long time no update.... well, sorry guys. busy weeks. Hardly spent more than 1 hour on internet per day. I only can check my facebook. Anyway, just to share what I had caught during my absent online....

I went to the multipurpose hall close to Indoor Stadium Berakas where the Pesta Sukan Remaja's silat competition was held. Got some photos shot despite of my knee pain 'again!'.

Beside that, I had the Physics Camp for my Menengah 5 Physics students. The main objective of this camp activities is to prepare my students to face their coming GCE O level examination with self-confidence and well-prepared. This involved mind and concept mapping, how to begin your revision exercise and what are the environment factors can affect your revision and guide to overcome those obstacles. Still on-going and hope they can create their own study environment at home and school for revision later on. One of the activities is shown below.

So, that's all guys that I would share at this moment. MOre to be covered this morning, but somehow....I felt asleep for a long time. Ok then more stories later.

Badminton Friendly Match

Yesterday afternoon, I was involved in the friendly badminton match between SMSB and SM PAP Masna. The match was held in SM PAP Masna hall. The badminton matches are divided into 2 categories, namely teachers and students.
Before the match, we have a group photos and followed by group handshakes. Anyway, we all have a great match with those teachers and students. Overall, for the students categories my school lost to SM PAP Masna but the teachers categories, we won.

Hopefully, in the future, we can have this friendly match again. After all, we want to make new friends in all schools in Brunei Darussalam.
